Aesthetics

A tall Nord woman with an air of composure, Svetla carries herself like she spent years trying to prove to people she could be just as good at the arcane arts as they are. She keeps her hair tightly wound and adorned with jewelry, and wears flowing robes appropriate to the weather she’s in. While not explicitly showing off her wealth, she doesn’t hide it either.

Personality

After years of training in the college and being looked down upon for being ‘just a Nord,’ Svetla is cold and aloof. She does not intentionally try to be rude, but adopts a measured,  cautious style when interacting with others, meaning she will frequently wait to take in as much information as she can before responding decisively. Do not mistake her quietness for a lack of confidence - rather she prefers to speak only when she knows she is correct.

Strengths and Weaknesses

She is skilled in Destruction and Warding, specifically in the form of Ice magic. While she has mostly shed her past habits, she can’t deny a love for the magic she once loved, dabbling in nature magic and commune with the animals she viewed as friends as a child. She’s quick on her feet and perceptive.

However, years of needing to make up for the mistake of being born a Nord means she often suffers from decision paralysis, trying to act only when she has all the information, and therefore sometimes just not acting at all. She often dismisses things she should not dismiss so easily as she views them subconsciously as being “not appropriate” for a great mage like herself. In some ways, the arcane knowledge she desired so greatly has blinded her to things she may love equally.

History

Born and raised on a small farmstead near Whiterun, Svetla spent many of her early years unaware of her latent arcane talent. Eventually, as she imagined a way off the farm she was worried she may never escape, her talent for magic manifested in allowing her to force animals to do her bidding.

Eventually, her desire to know more about what she could do (and her inferiority complex at being a farm girl with no formal training) led to her applying for the College of Winterhold.

Of course, she didn’t get in the first try, and spent years practicing before finally getting into the College. She specialized in ice magic and its various applications, largely settling on self-defense and destruction.

After completing her studies, Svetla returned to her family farm and found it decimated, traces of magic in the air and footprints that didn’t match any native creature to Skyrim. Over the course of several years, she’s slowly pieced together various details: that someone summoned something to her farm, that that someone did it purely for fun, and that that someone is going to get a shard of fucking ice between their eyes.

Svetla found an ad for the Crimson Silver Company, and while she has zero interest in hunting monsters, she suspects that the fastest way to find someone with a proclivity for summoning and capturing monsters is by joining a company explicitly tracking them.
