Tales of Monster Hunting, Friendship, and Lots of Bad Choices
The Story Thus Far
The Crimson Silver Company started from humble beginnings. A single day gone wrong, one bad pirate attack that led to a quest for vengeance, and the downfall of a mage who thought he was better than a greatsword. The original four founding members of the Crimson Silver Company came together to end a threat that concerned only themselves, but found a dark plot that they couldn’t in good conscious allow to continue.
See, the mage that the original council killed was one part of a broader organization: the Craglorn Syndicate. The Syndicate were a nasty bunch of monster smugglers, using portal magic to capture valuable creatures, trap them in pocket realms of Oblivions, and ship the portal stones that would release them in vast quantities to clients of every kind. By killing the mage, they’d released a vast number of monsters across Tamriel, and it was now their job to kill or capture the monsters they’d released and put an end to the Craglorn Syndicate.
The first step was obvious: undo the harm that killing the mage had caused by dealing with the greatest threat that they’d released from the Syndicate: the Corruptor. A lesser daedra theorized to be under the command of the Daedric Prince Peryite, the Corruptor worked through subterfuge and disease. His corruption spread through his purple blood, infecting monster, men, and mer alike, including the Company’s own Zeldava Ellis and Aesla Stout. The Company cleaved their way through underling after underling, dealing with the corrupted monsters the Syndicate had released, and ultimately catching up to the Corruptor himself. In a final battle, they shattered his essence and trapped him in dozens of tiny pockets of Oblivion using the same magic the Syndicate had been using for centuries to smuggle monsters. However, the fight was not without its consequences, as the Corruptor had used one of his mind-controlled Daedroths to shatter the original Guild Hall, slay Aestaril, one of the original founding members, and leave them broken and homeless.
There was no time to celebrate their victory, though, as the Craglorn Syndicate had regrouped after the loss of their old leader. A new leader, known only to the Company as the Marauder, had taken control, and she launched attacks on the Company, simultaneously relaunching the efforts of the Syndicate to control and ship monsters. The Company tracked down one of her underlings, Kalaril, who was responsible for the magic that allowed the Syndicate to ship monsters. They gained valuable information from him, including the location of a long-lost Syndicate Estate floating through Oblivion in its own pocket realm of existence. This Estate proved to be a suitable temporary home while the Company finished what they started.
They found the Marauder and ended her, destroying the last gasp of the Craglorn Syndicate in the process. With the Syndicate gone, a new, permanent guild hall arranged, and a few months of breathing room, the Crimson Silver Company is prepared for their next grand adventure. Though, hopefully, this time, one that involves less purple goo.
